Engaging. Mindful. Clear. From the get-go, CCG’s speakers-in-training are engaged in physical movement, self recordings, and immediate feedback.

One term often used in this area of expertise is accent reduction. Instead of reduction, I prefer to say modification. Like an actor, a speaker-in-training is learning how to flip the switch, i.e., modify his or her speech, for a specific context. Reducing, as in towards removing, doesn’t resonate well with CommuniClear. Modifying, on the other hand, makes more sense. The goal here is for these speakers to communicate in a way that can be more easily understood by their listeners.

Clear is smart.
