February in Chicago is a great time to work daily on your spoken English. It’s cold outdoors. You can make yourself a cup of hot coffee or tea, grab your recording device, review one feature that makes up the English sound system (e.g., syllable stress), and sit down to practice and self monitor.

Of course, I also highly recommended that you get out and about to put this practice into action. Having a little bit of cabin fever, I was just looking online at metromix.com and came across this wonderful listing of free Chicago museum days in February. Check it out. Choose at least one day when you will include a museum visit into that day’s speech practice routine.
